ORANGEBURG: Pedestrian Struck and Killed on West Orangeburg Road Tuesday Night

A tragic accident occurred Tuesday night in Orangetown when a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle at the intersection of West Orangeburg Road and Dutch Hill Road.

According to the Orangetown Police Department, officers responded to the scene at approximately 9:43 PM on October 21, 2025, following reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. A 2005 Honda Pilot driven by a 19-year-old male from Maryland was traveling east on West Orangeburg Road when it struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the street.

Emergency personnel from the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending family notification.

The Rockland County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene, and the crash remains under active investigation by the Orangetown Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team.
