At approximately 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in Orangetown, a pedestrian was struck and pinned after a vehicle lost control, trapping the individual between two cars before dragging them underneath.
Emergency personnel from Orangeburg Fire Department, Blauvelt Fire Department, Orangetown Police Department, South Orangetown EMS, Rockland Paramedics, and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office responded swiftly to the scene. A medevac helicopter was initially requested, and Blauvelt FD prepared a landing zone, but the decision was made to transport the victim by ground.
The pedestrian was rushed to Westchester Medical Center in serious condition. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
