ORANGEBURG: Five Injured, Two Seriously, in Three-Vehicle Crash on Route 303

Five people were injured, including two who suffered serious injuries, following a three-vehicle crash Friday night in Orangeburg, according to the Orangetown Police Department.

Police said the crash occurred at approximately 8:52 p.m. on July 10 on Route 303, just south of the intersection with Route 340. A preliminary investigation determined that a 2014 Volkswagen station wagon traveling northbound on Route 303 struck a 2009 Lexus SUV that was stopped in traffic. The impact pushed the Lexus into a 2017 Honda sedan that was also stopped.

The driver of the Volkswagen and a rear-seat passenger in the Lexus sustained serious injuries and were transported to Westchester Medical Center. Three other people involved in the crash were taken to Montefiore Nyack Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Orangeburg Fire Department, South Orangetown Ambulance Corps, Pearl River Ambulance Corps, Rockland Paramedic Services, and the Rockland County Sheriff’s BCI Unit assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Orangetown Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has additional information is asked to contact the Orangetown Police Department at 845-359-3700.
