O&R Utilities Works to Restore Power After Severe Thunderstorms and Strong Winds

Following severe thunderstorms and strong winds that swept through the area yesterday evening, Orange & Rockland Utilities (O&R) continues its efforts to repair damage and restore power to affected customers.

Today, O&R is reinforcing its response efforts by bringing in an additional 350 mutual aid workers to address the remaining outages.

As of 6:00 a.m. today, around 6,894 O&R customers were still without power. This includes 1,652 customers in Rockland County, distributed as follows:

  • Rockland County: 1,049
  • Orangetown: 409
  • West Haverstraw: 194
  • Clarkstown: 120
