A working car fire on the southbound New York State Thruway prompted a multi-agency response Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 10:35 AM between Exit 15 and Exit 14B.
Hillburn Fire Department and Tallman Fire Department arrived on scene and quickly worked to extinguish the flames. New York State Police assisted with traffic control and overall scene safety.
Despite the intensity of the fire, no injuries were reported. Traffic in the area was heavily backed up as crews operated and the vehicle was secured and removed from the roadway.
