NYS THRUWAY: Vehicle Engulfs in Flames Between Exits 14 and 14B Northbound; DWI Arrest Made

At approximately 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, a vehicle caught fire on the New York State Thruway northbound between Exits 14 and 14B. The driver, who was the sole occupant, was pulled from the burning vehicle by passing motorists who stopped to assist before emergency personnel arrived.

Monsey Fire Department, Faist EMS, Chaverim of Rockland, and New York State Police responded to the scene. Minor injuries were reported.

Following the incident, New York State Police troopers arrested the driver on charges of driving while intoxicated.
