New York State Police arrested a Bronx woman after she was caught driving 101 mph on the New York State Thruway and found to be intoxicated with a child in the vehicle.
Troopers from SP Tarrytown stopped a 2019 Honda SUV on I-87 southbound in the Town of Clarkstown on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at approximately 11:37 p.m., after observing the vehicle speeding in a 55-mph zone and drifting into the right lane, nearly striking another car.
Police identified the driver as Nathalie DeOliveira, 40, of the Bronx. Troopers detected signs of alcohol impairment, and DeOliveira reportedly failed standardized field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test. A child under 16 was found in the rear seat.
At the Tarrytown barracks, DeOliveira provided a breath sample indicating a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.13%, according to State Police.
DeOliveira was charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger (Leandra’s Law), along with speeding and additional vehicle and traffic violations. She was released to a sober third party and is scheduled to appear in Clarkstown Town Court on November 10, 2025.
All charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
