Nyack Water System Fails to Meet Treatment Standards in January

Village of Nyack officials have reported that the community’s water system did not fully comply with treatment standards in January. Although tests confirmed the absence of bacteria, the water supply lacked full disinfectant treatment on multiple occasions.

Health officials stress that there is no immediate risk to residents, and no action is required at this time. However, individuals with weakened immune systems, infants, and the elderly are advised to consult their healthcare providers as a precaution.

Nyack Water is actively working alongside the health department to address the issue and ensure the water system meets all required safety standards moving forward. Officials have assured the public that they will provide updates as more information becomes available.
