On Monday evening, a fundraiser event was held at the home of Wesley Hills Village Trustee Yisroel Cherns in support of Elijah Reichlin-Melnick’s campaign for the New York State Senate. The event, featured New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins as a special guest, underscoring her strong endorsement of Reichlin-Melnick’s candidacy.
The fundraiser was attended by a diverse group of community leaders, supporters, and local officials, all gathered to show their backing for Elijah Reichlin-Melnick. Earlier in the day, Stewart-Cousins toured various locations in Rockland County with Reichlin-Melnick, showcasing key community institutions and meeting with local leaders. This tour included visits to the Pupa Girls School in Spring Valley and Good Samaritan Hospital, where they were introduced to the new Labor and Delivery Department and met with Hatzoloh EMS of Rockland County.
The tour was attended by several Ramapo elected officials, including Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht, Spring Valley Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach, Village of Pomona Deputy Mayor Mendy Lasker, Rockland County Legislator Aron Wider, Ramapo Chief of Staff Mona Montal, and community activist Mayor Tauber. These officials underscored the community’s support and the collaborative efforts within the region.
In addition to these visits, the Senate Majority Leader held a private meeting with the Rockland Jewish Alliance to discuss critical issues, including the challenges facing local school districts and the rise of antisemitism across the county. This meeting highlighted the ongoing concerns and the need for concerted efforts to address these pressing matters.
