A potentially tragic accident was narrowly averted in Spring Valley on Tuesday evening around 8:00 PM, when a child riding a scooter at high speed downhill on Stephen Place toward North Cole Avenue had a miraculous escape.
As a vehicle approached on North Cole Avenue, the child managed to leap off his scooter at the last possible moment, avoiding a direct hit. The scooter was struck and sustained significant damage, but incredibly, the boy walked away without a scratch.
Hatzoloh EMS, Chaverim of Rockland, Spring Valley Police, and Ramapo Police responded swiftly to the scene to ensure the child was safe and assess the situation.

I Think that if the neighbor’s who live on north cole will let maybe there should be speed bumps on both sides of stefens so that the cars who recklessly zoom by on 45 MPH should get shake’n up and stop driving like wild animals????!!!
P.S. the parents still need to educate their children about road and bike/scooter safety
