New York State Senate to Host Antisemitism Roundtable Led by Senator Bill Weber and Working Group

Senator Bill Weber, in collaboration with the Antisemitism Working Group, is set to hold a pioneering public roundtable discussion on antisemitism on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. The event will be held at the Clarkstown Town Hall’s Auditorium Room 301, located at 10 Maple Ave., from 5 PM to 7 PM.

The Antisemitism Working Group, spearheaded by Senator Jack Martins of the 7th Senate District, also comprises distinguished members like Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick from the 9th Senate District, Senator Joe Griffo of the 53rd Senate District, Senator Peter Oberacker representing the 51st Senate District, and Senator Bill Weber from the 38th Senate District.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive between 4:30 PM and 4:55 PM to ensure seating before the commencement of the program.

The roundtable aims to address and bring light to various facets of antisemitism, with a lineup of notable guest speakers invited by Senator Weber. Among the key topics to be covered during the event include:

  • Anti-Semitic Incidents: Speakers will delve into the nature and frequency of anti-Semitic incidents plaguing our communities.
  • Tackling Antisemitism in Educational and Sports Arenas: The discussion will explore tangible strategies to counter antisemitism in schools and among sports teams.
  • Collaboration with Law Enforcement: Esteemed law enforcement personnel will shed light on their experiences while highlighting joint measures to enhance the effective prosecution of anti-Semitic offenses.

This roundtable discussion presents a pivotal opportunity for community members to join hands, share experiences, and devise actionable solutions to combat the age-old issue of antisemitism.
