The initiative, partially funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, focused on impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, seatbelt compliance, and enforcement of New York’s Move Over Law. State Police utilized sobriety checkpoints, increased DWI patrols, and targeted drivers using handheld electronic devices while behind the wheel.
