New York State Lawmakers Address Statewide Issues at RBA Luncheon

Assemblyman Aron Wieder joined fellow New York State elected officials whose districts include portions of the Hudson Valley at the Rockland Business Association (RBA) General Membership Luncheon on January 15. The bipartisan panel of five lawmakers took part in a moderated discussion on critical statewide policy issues affecting families, education, and the economy.

The panel included State Senators Bill Weber and Peter Harckham, along with Assemblymen Patrick Carroll, Karl Brabanec, and Aron Wieder.

Moderator David Lombardo fielded questions from attendees, with the discussion centering primarily on childcare availability and affordability, expanding universal pre-K programs in the Hudson Valley to align with New York City’s model, economic development initiatives across the state, and key legislative priorities and bills in Albany.

Assemblyman Wieder emphasized his constituent-driven approach to legislative work, noting that he prioritizes issues that will genuinely benefit his district and arise directly from outreach by residents.

Wieder also highlighted his strong commitment to supporting local businesses and creating an environment where New York employers can thrive.

“I am fully committed to supporting Rockland businesses and making our district more business-friendly so our local companies can succeed, grow, and create good-paying jobs right here in our community,” Wieder said. “That means cutting unnecessary red tape, providing the right incentives, and making sure government works as a partner, not an obstacle.”

The RBA luncheon provided business leaders an important opportunity to engage directly with their state representatives on policies that have both regional and statewide significance.
