Assemblymember Aron Wieder, Assemblyman Patrick J. Carroll, and State Senator Bill Weber recently toured Pfizer’s Vaccine Research and Development Center in Pearl River, New York, to explore its pioneering work in vaccine development.
The Pearl River campus, a key part of Pfizer’s global research network, employs nearly 1,100 scientists and staff. The legislators visited state-of-the-art laboratories and learned about the detailed process of vaccine development—from discovery to clinical trials—for diseases such as pneumococcal pneumonia and meningococcal disease.
“This facility is a powerhouse of innovation,” said Wieder, who represents Rockland County’s 97th District. “It’s inspiring to see such impactful work happening locally.”
The legislators expressed their commitment to supporting policies that promote research and economic growth, and they thanked Pfizer for the tour and the team’s dedication to advancing public health.
