New Traffic Light to be Installed at Chestnut Ridge Road and Hungry Hollow Road Intersection

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has committed to installing a new traffic light at the busy intersection of Chestnut Ridge Road (State Route 45) and Hungry Hollow Road. This long-awaited project aims to enhance traffic flow and improve pedestrian safety in the area.

The Village of Chestnut Ridge has assured residents that they will be kept informed as the project progresses. Although an exact installation date is not yet available, village officials remain optimistic that the light will bring significant improvements to the intersection.

Deputy Mayor Chaim Rose told Monsey Scoop, “The new traffic light is expected to alleviate congestion and reduce backups on Hungry Hollow Road. We’re optimistic this improvement will help make traffic flow smoother for everyone in the area.”

As the project moves forward, the village will continue to provide updates to ensure residents remain informed about the timeline and any potential impacts on local traffic.
