On the first night of Sukkos, a Sukkah in New Square on Stern Street nearly went up in flames, but swift action by New Square Ershte Hilf prevented a disaster.
The volunteers extinguished the blaze before it could reach a nearby multi-family house, ensuring no injuries occurred.
