A voter notice distributed throughout the Skver community is urging registered Democrats to participate in Tuesday’s Democratic Primary and support Rockland County Legislator Beth Davidson for Congress and incumbent Thomas P. DiNapoli for New York State Comptroller.
The notice emphasizes the importance of voter turnout, noting that every vote counts in what is expected to be a closely watched primary election. Community members were encouraged to head to the polls and make their voices heard.
Davidson is seeking the Democratic nomination in New York’s 17th Congressional District, which includes all of Rockland County and portions of Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties. The winner of the primary is expected to face Republican Congressman Mike Lawler in the general election this November.
DiNapoli, who has served as New York State Comptroller since 2007, is also seeking the Democratic nomination as he pursues another term overseeing the state’s finances and pension system.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the Vizhnitzer Kehilla is also expected to support Davidson and DiNapoli, while additional Orthodox Jewish communities throughout Rockland County and the Lower Hudson Valley are anticipated to back the same slate of candidates. Local leaders believe a strong turnout from these communities could have a significant impact in several of Tuesday’s contested races.
Residents were reminded to check their polling locations and cast their ballots before polls close Tuesday evening.
