On the first night of Yom Tov Sukkos (early Tuesday morning), at approximately 12:45 a.m. an electrical fire broke out at 74 Washington Avenue in New Square — the residence of HaRav Yitzchok Twersky Shlita, the second son of the Skverer Rebbe Shlita.
New Square Ershte Hilf members arrived within seconds and quickly contained the blaze, which was reportedly electrical in nature, preventing it from spreading further. The Hillcrest and New City Fire Departments along with Orange and Rockland Utilities responded after to fully extinguish the fire and secure the scene. Thankfully, No injuries were reported.
