New Playground Construction Begins at Kennedy Trails Park in Spring Valley

Construction of the new Kennedy Trails Park began today at Old Nyack Turnpike and Kennedy Drive, marking a significant milestone for the local community. This long-awaited project will bring modern playground equipment and facilities to the area, enhancing recreational opportunities for families and children.

The initiative, backed by a grant from Rockland County through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, follows a thorough bidding process. In August 2023, Village of Spring Valley (then) Trustee Yisroel Eisenbach, along with Paul Brennan, the Director of Rockland County Purchasing, and other officials, inspected the park’s site, which was then void of playground equipment. This inspection was part of the preliminary steps to select the most suitable proposal from the bidding companies.

During the walkthrough, various companies presented their designs, aiming to transform the park into a vibrant play area. (then) Trustee Eisenbach emphasized the project’s significance, stating, “The aim is to provide a modern playground for our community.”

The bidding process concluded with four companies submitting their proposals by the September 7th deadline. After careful consideration, the village selected a plan that promises to deliver a state-of-the-art playground.

Spring Valley Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “This new playground will be a wonderful addition to our community, providing a safe and enjoyable space for our children to play and grow.”

The construction of Kennedy Trails Park is expected to be completed in a few weeks by the end of June, offering a new and improved recreational space for the Spring Valley community.
