NEW CITY: Tree Takes Down Power Lines on Tempo Road, Widespread Outages Reported Across Rockland

A large tree came down Sunday afternoon on 18 Tempo Road in New City, bringing down high-voltage power lines and triggering widespread power outages across parts of Rockland County.

Traffic lights are out along New Hempstead Road down to New City, with reports of flickering power in areas including Monsey, Wesley Hills, and Spring Valley. While some traffic signals have since come back online, others remain out.

According to Orange & Rockland Utilities, over 2,500 customers are currently without power. Crews are actively working on repairs, and Monsey Scoop will provide updates on restoration timelines as they become available from utility officials.
