On Saturday around 2:00 PM, New City Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed through an interior wall of a home on Crum Creek Road and caught fire, with initial reports indicating the driver might still be inside.
Firefighters arrived quickly and confirmed a working fire but found that all occupants had safely exited the vehicle. Crews from New City’s tanker unit swiftly extinguished the blaze before it could spread further.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported among residents or firefighters. Mutual aid was provided by the Hillcrest Fire Department and West Nyack Fire Department, with assistance from New City Ambulance Corps, Rockland Paramedic Services, and the Clarkstown Police Department.
