Nanuet Senior High School Hosts Sobering DWI Accident Scene Demonstration

Last week, the Class of 2024 at Nanuet Senior High School experienced a powerful demonstration highlighting the dangers of driving while intoxicated (DWI). The event was organized by the Clarkstown Police Department, Supervisor Hoehmann, and the Town of Clarkstown, and was attended by students from the Nanuet Union Free School District.

The demonstration included a realistic re-enactment of a DWI accident scene and featured firsthand accounts from individuals affected by impaired driving. The event aimed to underscore the devastating consequences of such behavior, particularly as graduation festivities and the “100 deadliest days” from Memorial Day to Labor Day approach.

A special highlight of the event was the participation of Anastasia Karassik, President of the Larisa Karassik Foundation. Her impactful story served as a poignant reminder that driving is a privilege, not a right, and emphasized the importance of making smart choices behind the wheel.
