In Sloatsburg on Monday afternoon, a Ramapo Police Officer on patrol noticed a white male riding a motorcycle with a concealed license plate heading northbound on Route 17. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Sterling Mine Road, where the suspect briefly halted but then attempted to flee multiple times.
After a series of evasive maneuvers, the suspect was eventually located on Juniper Terrace. Despite being instructed to comply, he displayed erratic behavior and made further attempts to evade arrest. This led to a confrontation during which the officer deployed a taser, successfully subduing the suspect. A subsequent search revealed a substantial quantity of psilocybin mushrooms in the suspect’s possession.
The suspect, a 41-year-old male from Dobbs Ferry, is now facing several charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful fleeing from a police officer, obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest. Following his arraignment, he was remanded to the Rockland County Jail.
