Montebello Residents Awakened by Possible Gunshots; Ramapo Police Investigating {VIDEO}

At approximately 1:20 a.m. Friday, Montebello residents reported hearing around 10 loud noises that sounded like gunshots or possibly fireworks. Ramapo Police quickly responded, canvassed the area, and launched an investigation, but no evidence was immediately found.

While no reports of injuries were made, some residents described the noises as resembling someone emptying a magazine. Out of caution, police have increased patrols in the neighborhood and continue to investigate the source of the sounds.

Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the noises may have been fireworks, but law enforcement is treating the incident seriously. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Ramapo Police Department at 845-357-2400.
