MONTEBELLO: Pergola Fire on Marget Ann Lane; Firefighter Struck by Hose Suffers Minor Injuries

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Thursday evening, a call came in reporting a structure fire with a possible transformer issue and live wires down on Marget Ann Lane. Firefighters arrived to find a cabin attached to a home on fire, along with energized wires on the ground. Crews swiftly knocked down the flames, preventing damage to the main residence. Several pairs of tefillin were also saved from the structure.

During operations, one firefighter was struck by a hose while charging a hydrant, sustaining minor injuries.

Monsey Fire Department First Assistant Chief Hugh Jacobson and Chief Ben Frommer tell Monsey Scoop that they “couldn’t be more proud” of the department’s members for their outstanding work. Chief Ben Frommer added his appreciation to all assisting agencies, including Spring Valley and Hillcrest Fire Departments, Spring Hill EMS, Hatzoloh EMS, and Chaverim. He also thanked Tallman FD and Orangeburg FD, which stood by to cover additional Monsey calls during the incident.
