MONSEY: Tallman Fire Department’s Quick Thinking Prevents Major Traffic Disruption After Truck Fire at College Road and Route 59

A fire involving concrete framing plates on the back of a truck at College Road and Route 59 was handled efficiently thanks to the swift and strategic response of the Tallman Fire Department and Ramapo Police.

By the time firefighters arrived on scene, the fire had already burned out. Assessing the situation, Tallman firefighters made the decision not to wet down the truck at the busy intersection, a move that would have caused significant traffic delays at the heavily traveled junction.

Instead, crews escorted the truck to the nearby Tallman firehouse. Shortly after arriving, the fire reignited, but firefighters were already in position and quickly brought it under control, fully extinguishing the flames.

The incident was resolved safely and efficiently, with no injuries reported and minimal disruption to traffic.
