MONSEY/SPRING VALLEY: Power Restored After Outage Caused by Electrical Pole Fire On Robert Pitt Drive

At approximately 3:20PM on Wednesday afternoon, a burning electrical pole at 20 Robert Pitt Drive caused widespread power outages across Monsey and Spring Valley, leaving numerous homes and businesses without electricity. Emergency crews, including the Spring Valley Fire Department, Orange & Rockland Utilities, and the Spring Valley Police Department, responded to the scene to assess and address the situation.

By 4:00 PM, Orange & Rockland Utilities (O&R) crews were actively working to repair the sparking electrical pole on Robert Pitt Drive to restore power to affected areas. At 4:15 PM, over 700 O&R customers in Monsey and Spring Valley were still experiencing outages. Crews continued efforts to restore service, with some customers already back online. Officials estimated that the remaining outages would be resolved within the hour.

By 5:45 PM, all power had been fully restored. Orange & Rockland Utilities confirmed that repairs were completed, and all affected customers now have electricity. Residents and businesses can resume normal operations, and authorities urge anyone experiencing lingering issues to contact Orange & Rockland Utilities for further assistance.
