A dryer fire broke out Friday morning at a home on Suzanne Drive, but was swiftly contained before it could spread, thanks to the quick actions of the homeowner and the rapid response of the Monsey Fire Department.
The homeowner immediately contacted the Monsey Fire Department’s dedicated emergency line, enabling crews to arrive on scene in about a minute. The fast response allowed firefighters to bring the situation under control almost immediately, preventing damage to the home and ensuring everyone inside remained safe.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the homeowner had recently received the Monsey Fire Department’s campaign mailing and placed the magnets with the emergency number on phones throughout the home, a step that allowed for the immediate call and is credited with helping save the house.
The department is currently running a campaign encouraging residents to save the hotline number — with raffles and incentives aimed at increasing awareness and preparedness across the community.
🚨 SAVE THIS NUMBER: Monsey Fire Department Emergency Hotline — 845-425-9300 — keep it accessible, it can make all the difference in an emergency.

Got the flyer. Will still call 911. How do they want me to describe where my house is. “There is vacant land across the street?” The FD should be able to find it with my address.
so you should dail 911 and wait 10 minutes,
