On Wednesday, the second day of Yom Tov, Simchas Torah, at approximately 4:20 PM, a fire broke out at the Deletiner Shul on Neil Road after a candle reportedly fell and ignited nearby materials.
The call came into 44-Control, Rockland County’s communication headquarters, as an automatic fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, the Monsey Fire Department found that the building’s sprinkler system had successfully knocked down the main fire. Firefighters discovered some extension of the blaze, which they quickly extinguished.
