Hundreds of Chassidim and mispallelim joined the tefillos and tishen over Rosh Hashanah at the newly rebuilt Stanislover Beis Medrash in Monsey, marking a major milestone just months after the historic shul was demolished to make way for a significantly larger and expanded building.
As Monsey Scoop reported earlier this year, a major project was undertaken to expand the longtime Stanislover Beis Medrash to accommodate the continuously growing number of mispallelim who come throughout the year for tefillos and tishen with the Stanislover Rebbe Shlita.
The Stanislover Beis Medrash is one of Monsey’s longtime Chassidishe shuls. It was established by the previous Stanislover Rebbe, Harav Yisroel Rosenbaum Zt”l, a son of the Zutchka Rebbe Zt”l and son-in-law of the Chakal Tapuchin of Kalov Zt”l.
Following the Petira of the Stanislover Rebbe Zt”l, the Beis Medrash continued under the leadership of his son and successor, the current Stanislover Rebbe Shlita. The Rebbe’s tefillos, tishen and Avodas Hakodesh regularly draw a large crowd of Chassidim and other mispallelim.
Earlier this year, the original Beis Medrash was completely demolished as part of the expansion project, while tefillos were temporarily relocated to the Stanislover Yeshiva building. Construction then moved ahead at a rapid pace as crews worked to have the new building usable in time for the Yomim Noraim.
Those efforts paid off, with the newly expanded Beis Medrash opening in time for Rosh Hashanah. The significantly larger space allowed the large crowd to participate in the Yom Tov tefillos and tishen with greater comfort and room.
Work on the building is not yet fully complete. Construction and finishing work will continue following the Yomim Tovim as the new Beis Medrash is brought to completion, providing the growing Stanislover Kehilla with an expanded Makom Torah U’Tefillah for years to come.
