MONSEY: Historic Breslov Shul On Main Street Demolished to Make Way for Modern Expansion

The iconic Breslov Beis HaMedrish at 70 Main Street in Monsey, a spiritual home for the community for nearly half a century, is being taken down to make way for a larger, state-of-the-art facility. A cornerstone of Monsey’s history, the shul has long been a hub for Torah and Tefillah, serving generations of Mispallelim since the area’s early days.

The new building, designed to meet the needs of the expanding Breslov community, will uphold the legacy of its cherished predecessor while offering an enhanced modern space. To ensure continuity during the construction phase, the Shul has temporarily moved to a location on Elyon Road, maintaining an uninterrupted schedule of Torah study and Tefillois.

Adding to the significance of this transition, a special Hanachas Even Hapinah is planned for this Sunday on the Shul’s original site at 70 Main Street. The event will mark a pivotal moment in the evolution of the Breslov community in Monsey.
