MONSEY: Gas and Water Lines Struck at Route 306 and Phyllis Terrace, Road Closed

Emergency crews responded Saturday evening after construction workers accidentally struck both a gas line and a water line at the intersection of Route 306 and Phyllis Terrace.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m., prompting the closure of Route 306 between Maple Avenue and Rita Avenue as a safety precaution while crews worked to secure the area and begin repairs.

The Monsey Fire Department and Ramapo Police Department responded to the scene, along with utility crews from Orange and Rockland Utilities and Veolia Water.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes while repairs continue.
