MONSEY: Flooding Leads to Safety-Related Power Shutdown on Horton and Bates Drives; Power Restored to Area, 18 College Still Without Service

Power has been restored to residents along Horton Drive and Bates Drive following a temporary shutdown caused by major flooding at 18 College Road. Orange and Rockland Utilities shut off electricity earlier as a safety precaution due to hazardous conditions created by the flooding.

Utility crews emphasized that the shutdown was necessary to protect residents and emergency personnel while the situation was assessed and addressed. More than 150 residents were initially affected by the outage.

As of 6:45PM Wednesday evening, electricity has been restored throughout the surrounding area; however, 18 College Road remains without power as crews continue work at that location. Restoration efforts are ongoing in Monsey.
