Monsey Fire Department’s Rapid Response Stops Electrical Fire After Hotline Call to 845-425-9300

On Wednesday at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Monsey Fire Department responded within two minutes of receiving a hotline call to 845-425-9300 reporting the smell of electrical smoke inside a newly constructed home in Monsey.

Within about three minutes, the first fire apparatus was on scene. Firefighters quickly located active flames inside a wall, determined to be electrical in nature, and quickly extinguished it.

Officials say the rapid response and swift actions by firefighters prevented what could have become a full-scale structure fire, likely saving the home from significant damage. No injuries were reported.

Residents are urged to save 845-425-9300, the Monsey Fire Communications Dispatch Emergency Hotline, which connects callers directly to fire dispatch for immediate response. Having this number readily available can significantly reduce response times and may be the difference between a minor incident and a major emergency.

  1. Did the spray foam insulation somehow result in this ?
Was the generator wiring part of the original work, or was it added later?
