The Monsey Fire Department has officially unveiled a brand-new Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV), enhancing its ability to respond to emergencies in areas that are difficult to access with traditional fire apparatus.
The new unit, designated 7-UTV, is specifically equipped to handle brush fires in off-road or hard-to-reach locations, providing firefighters with greater flexibility and faster response times in challenging terrain.
In addition to firefighting capabilities, the UTV is outfitted for rescue operations and can be used to transport patients when access by ambulance or larger vehicles is limited.
Officials say the unit will also play a key role during large-scale events and road closures, where maneuverability and quick access are critical.
The addition of 7-UTV marks another step in the department’s ongoing efforts to improve emergency response and better serve the Monsey community.
