In preparation for the busy summer travel season, the Monsey Fire Department (MFD 7) and the South Blooming Grove Fire Department (SBGFD 60) recently joined forces for a hands-on training focused on rapid response rescue operations and advanced vehicle extrication techniques.
The drill, held at the newly established fire training grounds in the Village of South Blooming Grove, simulated real-world motor vehicle accident scenarios commonly seen across the Orange and Rockland County corridor. Firefighters practiced specialized maneuvers using hydraulic rescue tools and coordinated strategies designed to safely and efficiently remove victims from heavily damaged vehicles.
Officials say the joint training not only sharpens critical lifesaving skills but also strengthens inter-agency coordination, ensuring faster and more effective responses during high-risk incidents throughout the region.
