In a strategic move to enhance emergency response capabilities, the Monsey Fire Department is expanding its readiness in the northern part of its fire district. The initiative involves utilizing an existing property at the intersection of Route 306 and Grandview Avenue, situated near the Hatzoloh garage and a nearby shopping strip.
The decision comes as the department faces challenges responding to calls in the Wesley/Forshay area due to increased vehicular traffic along Route 306 and a rise in call volume driven by ongoing construction of more homes. To address these issues, the Fire District has purchased a house at the intersection. Plans are underway to maintain the house largely as is, with light modifications at one side to accommodate a fire truck dedicated to providing improved coverage for the neighborhood.
The Monsey Fire Department has built a reputation for its efficiency and effectiveness in handling emergencies. Equipped with state-of-the-art fire trucks, the latest gear, and rigorous training, the department’s volunteers continue to respond to emergencies with remarkable speed and precision. As the Monsey community continues to grow, the department’s proactive approach reflects its dedication to staying ahead of the demands of a rapidly changing landscape.
