Monsey Fire Department Officials Travel To Florida As Construction Begins On New Fire Truck

Chief officers, administrative officials, and fire district commissioners from the Monsey Fire Department (Dept 7) recently traveled to Florida to oversee the start of construction on a brand-new fire truck that will be added to the department’s fleet.

The new apparatus is being built to help meet the growing needs of the department following the opening of a new substation, where an existing truck has been assigned. In addition, several trucks currently in service are aging, prompting the department to invest in a new state-of-the-art apparatus.

During their visit, department officials met with representatives from the manufacturer to review the truck’s specifications, equipment, and features, ensuring it will be built to meet the operational needs of Monsey firefighters and the community they serve. Officials also had the opportunity to examine various options and configurations before construction moves forward.

The new fire truck is expected to be completed and delivered to Monsey in approximately 12 months.

Photos from the trip show department leaders working closely with manufacturer representatives as construction gets underway on the department’s newest apparatus.
