Monsey Fire Department Enhances Safety and Efficiency with New Equipment

The Monsey Fire Department has recently completed the acquisition of new Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) units, a vital piece of safety equipment for firefighters.

The newly arrived SCBAs, designed to be lighter than their predecessors, boast advanced safety features that allow Command to monitor critical information such as the wearer’s location and the air level of each pack in real time. This technological advancement is expected to greatly enhance the department’s effectiveness in responding to emergencies.

Accompanying the new breathing apparatuses, the department has also received a shipment of new face masks, further emphasizing their commitment to the safety and well-being of their firefighters.

Over the past two years, the Monsey Fire Department has seen a substantial enhancement in its capabilities with the addition of two engines, multiple Rapid Response Vehicles, and SUVs for the chiefs. Furthermore, a tower ladder truck is anticipated to join the department’s fleet this summer, marking another milestone in its ongoing efforts to improve response and operational efficiency.

In addition to equipment upgrades, the Monsey Fire Department, in collaboration with the Brewer Fire Company, has made significant strides in member recruitment and retention. Their concerted efforts have also resulted in improved response times to emergency calls, underscoring their dedication to the community’s safety.
