The Monsey Fire Department held a comprehensive multi-level extrication training on Monday evening, giving members hands-on experience with a wide range of rescue techniques. Spring Hill EMS was also on scene participating and supporting the training.
Firefighters worked through several stations designed to simulate real emergency conditions, including vehicle stabilization, door pops, battery disconnections, and essential safety procedures involving modern vehicles. Four cars were used to provide multiple scenarios, allowing crews to practice at varying levels of difficulty.
The training was open to all department members, with each firefighter participating at the level appropriate to their experience and skillset. While newer members focused on foundational extrication steps, more advanced members tackled higher-level operations, ensuring the entire department sharpened its rescue capabilities.
Monsey Fire Department leadership emphasized the importance of ongoing training to maintain readiness for real-world emergencies throughout the community.
