On Monday evening, the William P. Faist Ambulance Corp and Monsey Fire Dept 7 came together for a joint real-life simulated training. The scenario unfolded with a call for help following a car crashing through the wall of a building, resulting in multiple injuries.
Under the leadership of Captain Matthew Condon, Monsey firefighters worked diligently to extricate the trapped patients from the vehicle, and they also faced the challenging task of rescuing individuals pinned beneath a concrete wall. Meanwhile, the dedicated EMTs from Faist, led by Lt. Vicky Deutsch, provided essential medical care and transported a total of 11 patients from the accident scene.
Ensuring seamless coordination was Ramapo dispatcher Evan Humphrey, who was on-site to manage dispatch operations and staging, ensuring a smooth and efficient response to the simulated emergency.
This invaluable joint training exercise was made possible through the generous contribution of resources from Community Activist Meyer Tauber of Metrex Realty. It underscores the commitment of both organizations to the safety and well-being of the community, as they continue to refine their skills and enhance their ability to respond effectively in real-life emergencies.
