Monsey Fire Captain Eli Ribowsky Honored with Send-Off as He Relocates Out of State

On Sunday morning, the Monsey Fire Dept came together to honor the retirement and relocation of longtime first responder Captain Eli Ribowsky (7-4) of the Monsey Fire Department, who is heading to begin a new chapter out of state.

The Monsey Fire District Commissioners, Chiefs, Line Officers, and members of the Brewer Fire Engine Company officially announced Captain Ribowsky’s retirement, recognizing his years of courageous service, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to protecting the Monsey community.

In a touching show of respect, members of Spring Hill EMS—where Ribowsky also proudly served—joined alongside Monsey Fire personnel and the Ramapo Police Department at the NYS Thruway southbound entrance for a send-off standby. With lights flashing and radios echoing farewell messages, responders saluted Ribowsky one last time as he departed.

“7-4, we show you responding direct—southbound. Stay safe,” came the symbolic transmission over the airwaves.

Captain Ribowsky’s commitment and leadership have left a lasting mark on Rockland’s emergency services. The entire community extends heartfelt thanks and wishes him much success and happiness in the next stage of his life.
