Monsey Eruv Weekly Inspection Report — Parshas Vayakhel–Pekudei

The Eruv of Monsey released its weekly inspection report ahead of Shabbos Parshas Vayakhel–Pekudei, detailing extensive maintenance work across multiple sections of the Eruv.

According to the report, a total of 34 issues were identified during this week’s inspections and entered into the Eruv monitoring system. Of those, 12 were classified as not kosher and required immediate repair, four were categorized as high-priority upgrades, and the remaining 18 were listed as medium- or low-priority maintenance items.

In the Airmont Eruv section, a newly installed utility pole on Airmont Road in Mahwah, New Jersey will require the addition of a new lechi to maintain the Eruv line. In Monsey, crews removed bamboo that had become tangled with the Eruv string along Viola Road.

Within the Rambam Eruv section along Route 306, crews repaired a string after a new shed was built beneath the Eruv line. In the Upper Saddle River and Airmont section, branches pushing against the lower cable on Sparrowbush Road were cleared.

In the Montebello Eruv, maintenance teams cleared branches in two locations along Babbling Brook Lane and corrected the alignment beneath the top wire. Additional branch clearing and alignment corrections were carried out along Route 202.

Repairs and maintenance were also completed in New City, where crews cut branches touching the Eruv wires along South Mountain Road and corrected alignment beneath the top wire at three locations.

In the Hillcrest Eruv section, alignment corrections were made at two locations along North Middletown Road. In Pomona, crews repaired three Eruv strings and fixed a broken lechi along Ladentown Road, with additional inspections still ongoing.

Overall, crews cleared branches or bamboo at more than five locations, installed or repaired infrastructure including a new pole and lechi repair, and completed alignment corrections at more than seven points along the Eruv line.
Officials said the majority of repairs were completed Thursday despite rainy conditions.

Crews are scheduled to return Friday morning to finalize remaining minor repairs and perform final inspections to ensure all sections of the Eruv are fully kosher before candle lighting.
