The Monsey Eruv was inspected this week, with checkers recording a total of 15 issues in the monitoring app system. Of those, five issues affected kosher status, while the remaining items were classified as upgrades. All necessary repairs and adjustments were addressed.
Earlier in the week, a motor vehicle accident at College Road and Viola Road resulted in the removal of a pole lechi, and two additional Eruv strings were taken down during post-accident work. Crews repaired all three strings. In Airmont, along East Mahwah Road, an Eruv string that had been ripped off a pole was also repaired.
Several repairs and upgrades were completed along Viola Road in the Montebello and old Monsey sections. Crews adjusted PVC beneath the wire at multiple locations to improve alignment, cleared a branch that was pushing against an Eruv string, and made additional PVC adjustments further down the road. Another repair was completed later in the week on the same stretch of Viola Road to further improve PVC alignment.
Additional work included a minor adjustment in the Rambam section along Route 45 in Spring Valley, where a string required realignment atop the PVC. In Pomona, crews repaired two locations where PVC pipes were separating and cleared a branch that had pushed against an Eruv wire.
Much of Monday was dedicated to completing small upgrades that had been flagged by checkers, all of which were addressed. On Tuesday, crews also upgraded sections of the Rambam Eruv along Route 306. Officials noted that further upgrades are planned, particularly in areas where construction fencing and retaining wall work is still underway, which will allow for stronger and more durable connections once completed.
Residents are encouraged to continue reviewing the weekly Eruv status updates before Shabbos.
