The Eruv of Monsey released its weekly inspection report ahead of Shabbos Parshas Chukas–Balak, with inspectors identifying 25 issues across the Eruv system. According to the report, 17 of the issues required repairs, while the remaining items were classified as lower-priority maintenance. Officials confirmed that all sections of the Eruv are kosher following this week’s work.
At the Good Samaritan Hospital Rambam Eruv, crews completed three repairs, including trimming branches tangled with the Eruv string along Campbell Avenue, replacing two PVC lechis, repairing sections of the perimeter fence, and installing a new string above a fence at a location frequently used by pedestrians as a shortcut.
In the Airmont Eruv, branches were trimmed along North Airmont Road near the New York State Thruway where the Monsey and Airmont Eruvs connect. Additional branch clearing was completed on Hillside Avenue after vegetation began pushing against the Eruv string.
Chestnut Ridge crews completed one repair along DeSalvo Road near Red Schoolhouse Road, installing a new fence section to connect the highway fence with a utility pole. In Montebello, crews repaired the string connecting the Barn Shul along Route 202 across from Coe Farm Road after it had fallen. The repair also reduced the gap between the utility pole and fence from 11 inches to 9 inches.
Several repairs were completed in the Monsey Rambam sections. In Sh’lav 1, crews installed two new Eruv poles on West Street after a vehicle struck the existing pole, relocated the poles to a stronger position, trimmed branches along Union Road before Viola Road, repaired an opening in the fence at a housing complex on Corner Street, and restored an Eruv string on Route 306 after it was damaged by a fallen tree branch.
In the Monsey Rambam Sh’lav 2 section, crews adjusted the fence at Bates Drive and trimmed branches interfering with the Eruv string along Spook Rock Road and Viola Road.
In Spring Valley, a repair was completed at the intersection of East Eckerson Road and Buena Vista Avenue after the installation of a new utility pole required replacement of an existing PVC lechi. In the Spring Valley Rambam section, crews trimmed branches touching the Eruv string along Route 45 and removed a wire that had come to rest on the Eruv string.
The Suffern, Pearl River, Nanuet, Wesley Hills, New Hempstead, New City, Hillcrest, and Haverstraw sections were all inspected and reported to be fully operational.
Eruv officials confirmed that all necessary repairs were completed ahead of Shabbos, ensuring the Eruv remains fully kosher and operational for the community.
