Monsey Eruv Weekly Inspection Report — Parashas Beshalach

The Eruv of Monsey was inspected this week ahead of Shabbos Shirah (Parshas Beshalach), with checkers entering a total of 15 issues into the Eruv monitoring app. According to the weekly report, 10 of the issues affected kosher status, while the remaining items were classified as upgrades. All identified issues were repaired prior to Shabbos.

In the Chestnut Ridge and Spring Hill area, a section of the perimeter fence running along the Parkway was damaged by a snow plow and subsequently repaired.

Within the Monsey Rambam Eruv, crews addressed multiple issues. In the Homestead area, a downed Eruv string and a missing pole cap were identified and successfully reinstalled. Along Viola Road, between Route 306 and College Road, a PVC lechi that had been damaged by a snow truck was replaced.

In Spring Valley, along the New York State Thruway between Chestnut Ridge Road and Scotland Hill, falling trees caused significant damage to the fence line running parallel to the roadway. Maintenance crews cut down three trees and fully repaired the fence to restore a continuous Eruv boundary.

Several repairs were also completed in New City. On South Mountain Road, branches that had pushed an Eruv string out of alignment were cleared, and the string was professionally realigned. In the East Eckerson Road area, crews corrected a PVC top that had shifted away from the wire, repaired a damaged PVC bottom by adding an extension to reach the ground, and fully replaced a PVC lechi attached to a utility pole that had been damaged in a car accident.

In Pearl River, along South Highland Avenue, multiple PVC lechis were damaged by snow plow trucks during recent snow removal operations. All affected lechis were replaced. In Nanuet, on South Pascack Road, a new PVC lechi was installed following the placement of a new utility pole to maintain continuity of the Eruv line.

Eruv officials confirmed that the entire Eruv was thoroughly inspected this week and that all reported issues were successfully addressed before Shabbos.
