A large tree fell across telephone wires on West Maple Avenue between Boxwood Lane and Highview Road at approximately 9:00 p.m. Thursday evening, blocking the roadway and prompting an emergency response.
Chaverim of Rockland, with assistance from the Ramapo Police Department, quickly responded to the scene and worked to safely remove the tree.
The street, which was temporarily closed to traffic, has since been cleared and reopened.
