A Missouri man was arrested Monday afternoon following a road rage incident on the Palisades Parkway in the Town of Clarkstown, according to the New York State Police.
Authorities say the incident occurred at approximately 1:43 p.m. near Exit 9, when troopers from the State Police Haverstraw barracks responded to reports of a road rage confrontation. Following an investigation, Jason Salvatore, 37, of Chesterfield, Missouri, was found to be in possession of a loaded Glock 19 handgun with a high-capacity magazine.
Salvatore was taken into custody without incident and transported to State Police Haverstraw for processing. He has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class D felony.
He was later arraigned in Clarkstown Town Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail on bail set at $10,000 cash, $25,000 bond, or a $100,000 partially secured bond. He is scheduled to return to court on May 8 at 9:30 a.m.
The 56-year-old victim was granted a full stay-away order of protection. The Clarkstown Police Department assisted in the investigation, which remains ongoing.
