What started as a frightening intruder call in New Hempstead on McNamara Road quickly turned into a wild scene when Ramapo Police and Chaverim of Rockland discovered the “intruder” was actually a bear cub inside a garage.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the cub had smashed through a window to gain entry, sending the homeowner into panic mode before realizing it wasn’t a burglar at all. The mother bear bolted from the property as police and Chaverim arrived, leaving her cub behind.
In a tense moment, the homeowner opened the garage door to free the frightened animal, allowing it to scurry back outside. Chaverim later stepped in with plywood to secure the shattered window and restore calm after the unexpected wildlife drama.
