MAJOR SHIFT: Bais Shifra Miriam to Shutter After Four Decades — Merging with Bas Yisroel Girls School

Bais Shifra Miriam, a well-established girls’ school in Monsey that has served the community for over 40 years under the leadership of HaRav Chaim Flohr Shlita, has announced it will not reopen for the 2025–2026 school year. The closure follows a period of severe financial hardship, which led to a temporary shutdown earlier this year, as reported by Monsey Scoop in March.

The school will be merging with Bas Yisroel Girls School, led by the Stanislover Rebbe Shlita. Sources tell Monsey Scoop that both leaders will now join forces to oversee the newly expanded Bas Yisroel Girls School.

Notably, both Bais Shifra Miriam and Bas Yisroel Girls School do not accept—and will continue not to accept—any form of government funding, a stance taken for various ideological and religious reasons.
